Happy Birthday!

What a great day for a Birthday party!! It was snowing cats and dogs. I think it was making up for not snowing last year when I was in labor, which is what I had hoped would be the scenario for my home birth. I had romanticized the thought of laboring to the soothing sight of snowflakes out my window, at night, so peaceful. Instead I was screaming my head off to the Snowdown fireworks at sunset when Josiah made his way into the world.

He started off the day with his ball and balloon - two of his favorite things!

I had decorated while he was napping so he woke up to a parade of balloons down the handrail, how exciting.

He was a bit cautious with all these people arriving, not sure what the big hubbub was about.
Sitting with his friend Ava, who also likes balloons.
Flirting with Gabi

I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do about cake for J's birthday. He hasn't really had much sugar and I had heard from one of my firends that when she tried a traditional sugary cake for her daughter's birthday she wouldn't eat it. So I opted for "Bunny Cake" from my Super Baby Food book. It's a carrot cake sweetend with Applesuace and apple juice. The frosting was made with cream cheese and honey (a 1 year milestone food). We started singing but J started crying
He loved the cake and ate the whole thing! What a fun day!! We love you baby!
